Gatsby all the Way!
I was over the moon to have an opportunity to collaborate with the talents of Andre Lambrechts from FAB Events on this Gatsby themed Wedding. It was only after meeting Deon and Lesley-Anne that I realised the bigger gift I received. Meeting them made the whole Covid dilemma vanish for a moment. They beam such joy and playfulness that you can not help but feel good when you leave their presence. Here’s to your joint lights shining brighter during this time!

Our Journey So Far
One fateful day about 4 years past,
I walked through Bossa for an absolute last.
Around the corner there I came,
And my life would never be the same.
At the time, little did I know,
Stood Pippi armed with Cupids bow.
A quick hello, I thought that was it,
But no she insisted, “come and sit”.
So I hesitantly pulled up a stool,
And sat next to Lesley-Anne who was “working late for school”.
Relaxed conversation is how we first met,
“Good riddance” is a term I won’t soon forget.
A few chance encounters happened thereafter,
When I started to notice my heart beating faster.
But this really was a tough nut to crack,
But then she floored me with a full frontal attack.
She laid down some rules truth be told,
Not married, must have children and not be too old.
I’d failed them all and my goose was cooked,
But clearly other criteria were overlooked.
Was really hard work to secure my spot,
I think the deal was sealed in the parking lot.
Jokes aside, she warned me to go,
“RUN” she said, but I didn’t want to know.
Then it was time to meet Jarryd and Kyle,
Believe it or not, this really took a while.
I understand now but I didn’t know then,
She is as fiercely protective as a mother hen.
First little Jarryd came up to the gate,
To meet the man taking mom on a date.
A varkie weekend was clearly underway,
He was dubbed “My orphan child” just for that day.
In walks Kyle giving me a stare,
To find me in his house, sitting on his chair.
“Get off my spot”, I know he wants to say,
This guy is a freeloader all the way.
Then she disappeared, was running scared,
This being hitched again for which she wasn’t prepared.
I didn’t give up, all the same,
Perseverance is clearly my middle name.
Her mates were there every step of the way,
Them and Fifty Shades clearly saved the day.
But that’s all history – our love stood the test,
I wasn’t seduced I have to confess..
And look at us know in this beautiful setting,
With friends and family here for our wedding.
I love her completely – the love of my life,
I am so privileged to call Les my wife.
